What else can destroy artillery besides C4 and how many HP does it take?

I have always used two to blow up the UAV but I must admit that there has been a few times (out of over 100) thet I ndded a third. I always guessed that there was a supply crate at the other side that I maybe hadn't noticed. (in that case you need 3)
In that case put two C4 right on the asset, but between the asset and the supply crate. Use the supply crate to replenish your C4 then run away and detonate. Both should blow up and you still have 5 charges left.

I used to think that too. It seems to depend on how you place it; if I put both blocks right next to each other it doesn't destroy it but if they are more separated then it does. The only time I use three is when there's a supply crate next to it.

This is true. I always put my charges on opposing sides of the trailer, but my buddy who places them in the exact same spot says he needs 3.
But really, quit whining and try it out. Youll find that you only need 2 charges to destroy a trailer. Start up an empty server so you know it will be at full health. It works every time.

I was in a game in Mashtuur City, and my squad had jumped out of helis on top of the huge silo at the MEC starting base. Anyway, we sat there with a medic, a support guy, a sniper, and 3 anti tanks constantly shooting at the UAV trailer, satellite, and arty and we took them all out, it felt like forever though probably around 25 shots with an antitank missile.

I think anything that explodes does some damage to assets. They have 1000 health points and don't seem to auto-destruct at 90% damage as vehicles do.
Tank shell impact (material 43 vs. 51): 500 x 0.052 = 26 per hit
Tank shell splash (material 70 vs. 98): 125 x 0.1 = 12.5 per hit
so it should take about 26 hits to kill an asset
AT rocket impact (material 52 vs. 51): 500 x 0.047 = 23.5 per hit
AT rocket splash (material 70 vs. 98): 125 x 0.1 = 12.5 per hit
so it should take about 28 hits to kill an asset
(Stationary TOWs do 1030 base impact damage and have the same materials so they should take about 17 hits).
Grenades do a lot of damage too: 28 for lauched grenades and 30 for thrown (assuming they are in contact when they explode). Lauched 'nades used to do more but they removed the impact damage in 1.2.

Interesting. I kind of wish that there were more ways to fully destroy arty. Even spec ops does not get enough C4 to finish the job, which imo, should be fixed.
Re: What else can destroy artillery besides C4 and how many HP does it take?
UAV always blows up with 2 c4 for me. It would be nice as you say to get more c4 to finish the job with arty. It would also be nice to receive at least 2 points for each asset. I don't understand why an asset which is difficult to get to is vauled less than an average kill or revive?
I usualy bomb arty with a jet for target practice if there isn't much else to shoot sometimes ... 1 or 2 bombs max does the job ...
