Lag problems

My specs are:
amd athlon 2400+
ati radeon 9600xt
1 gig ram

I run on all low settings and only get 20-25fps, i can't even play in 64 player maps because of the lag. Does anyone have any ideas what is wrong.

Could it be dust? If so could you tell me how to clean my computer of dust? Thanks

I doubt the problem is dust. Dust around your heatsinks does adds a little heat that can slow your machine down, but the problem is more likely down to old/slow harware.

what are your game settings and resolution?

My settings are all low and lowest resolution. I bought my graphics card and ram off ebay do u think they might be faulty?

nah, its not faulty. i got a 9550 and i get 15 fps. your 9600 gives you 20 fps, thats better than me.
