I had to wait until I got about 70 kills before it finally awarded me veteran. Really though, when people complain about how its hard to get the badges, rarely do they ever consider the fact that if they cant meet the requirements, they dont deserve to have the badge. Theyre meant to be challenging for a reason.

well, that why they try hard for it. and practice hard to get the badge that makes them worth it. no one starts off getting 26k knife kills.

you have to have 50 knife kills to get vet.
wow what happen to the good old days when you have to have skill to get badges. vet knife was 7 knife kills in one round and 50 total knife kills. expert 18 kills in one round and 100 total knife kills.

I wish you lot would stop harping on about 'the good old days'. It's still tricky to land 7 knife kills in a round. As for 3000 global knife kills? Sod. That. I'd much rather enjoy the game than spend 900,000 hours chasing after polygons with a stabber.

The problem is that if the requirement is too high then you end up with people just running around trying to knife people for several rounds and not contributing to the team in any meaningful way. It's the same with pistols. If it's a reasonable level then you can get it and move on to a more teamwork oriented game.

I don't know about you, but I'm not too shabby with a pistol. I can easily take out guys using PKM's. The trick is to straffe while shooting. The PKM has trouble connecting while moving.

Speaking of knifings... this dude went on a rampage on Sharqi last night, knifing people all over the place. He took out my entire squad (while his teammates shot into the group, and no one spotted anyone...) Anyway, he's got some skill with the knife. Ginooobili. I won't comment on anything else about him.

But that is their right. They can play in any way they want to so long as it does not violate the ROE and EULA. You cannot be a game-nazi and demand that everyone do as you do right? Forcing someone to do something is against the ROE, so if someone wants to run around and pistol-it-up or knife-it-up during a round I dont think that the entire BF2 community will suffer any repercussions.
