Anyone had this, first time I've had it, but I hope it doesn't continue or if theres a preventation for it. I was on Zatar, and was playing for like 10 minutes, then all of a sudden my game like made a noise like when you hear a noise and it freezes and stays with that noise then 2 seconds later my PC restarted??? I mean crash to desktops, server crashes, connection problem, game freeze and now restarts?

Re: BF2 restart?
Sometimes i will be in the middle of a game and then it makes some noise and the noise freezes but keeps on playing like when you hold a key down on ts and it can only be sorted by restarting . But i havnt had what you mentioned yet :p -

Re: BF2 restart?
it does it to me, the cause of the PC restart is over doing its self trying to run to many things at once, BF2 is the cause of my pc's main break downs, its because theres so many scripts, files and programms to run, it cant take it so its closes and causes the computer to restart, that noice your hearing is your internal componants stopping and trying to restart.Comment

Re: BF2 restart?
Well internal components? it wasn't inside the computer it was BF2, sort of like a sound loop.
But I didn't really do anything to cause it to do that, I was in the transport helicopter when it happened.Comment

Re: BF2 restart?
the sound loop is the game crashing, but internal componants will make noises, the 1.3 patch is making this happen alot more but it should be sorted by 1.4, when you restart your pc you get the error messege, "the system has recoverd from a serious error" dont worry to much this is only a warning, you'll know if summat serious does happen because the PC will run different, my advice keep playing and try to get on as normal.Originally posted by Eternal-SouljahWell internal components? it wasn't inside the computer it was BF2, sort of like a sound loop.

wait untill 1.4 is released if it still occures then reinstall bf2 as it could have a currupted file.Comment

Re: BF2 restart?
This happens when theres a fatal exception or equivalent.......u have it set that when this occurs the comp will restart. This is not very useful as you lose the log/error message. There is a way for you to make it so it dont restart and then you can see the error message (then google it), but i cant remem how to do it. Either way windows crashed or something. Probably nothing to do with hardwareComment

Re: BF2 restart?
Glad to see it's not only me this is happening to. I have a 'higher-end' PC, and have more problems than ppl with min. specs. It's frustrating.Originally posted by SacramentoIt happens sometimes...Even on my new rig, which has a nvidia 7950, 2 gigs...stock settings, freeezes, then beeps and shuts down.Comment

Re: BF2 restart?
for computer restarts? number 1 culprit is power supply too weak or wearing out
#2 is heat - take off you side panel and get a $9 fan from walmart and blow it right in
#1 and #2 did NOT help me (but a few of our clan mates)
my problem was #3
failing RAM
all other programs worked fine
so, I did not expect it
ran memtest86
got TONS of errors
replaced ram (under warranty :))
and never had a crash sinceComment
