patch freeze help

hi i recently dld the 1.4 patch and when i press join server it just freezes do i have to install the 1.3 patch again as well? because i just bought a new hd and i thought the 1.4 was the full patch because of its size
amd athlon 64 3400+2.2ghz
ati radeon x1600 pro 512 mb pcie(play medium and some high)
80 gig wd hd
500 watt psu
1.5 gigs ram

No...the 1.4 patch it still in beta.

Soo...if you want to play v1.3 you're going to have to re-install You can't go back from v1.4 to v1.3 unless you made a backup of the entire BF2 game directory.

what will happen when i install 1.3 will i still get the new map road to jbadaba whatever u call it?
