OK, are most servers running the 1.4 beta or not?
Is it worth installing?

there are some servers. i installed it [making a backup ofcourse] and played few rounds of vanila bf2 [sharqi, shogua, zetar] it was fun, i havent noticed any big changes, except one - i managed to play 4hours straight without ctd/server crash. it was nice.

btw. most players on 1.4beta2 were total newbies, privates, corporals - it was slaughter :).

if you have spare 5gb on your hdd, make a backup of your bf2 folder, install 1.4bate2 and check yourself. you can play road to jalalabad with bots and familiar yourself with that map - it requires some time to know each street.

I did and found it good to play made a nice change from just getting hammered by a tank or apc. However, not many servers out and about but that was when the first patch came out. It is up to you but give it ago and post any faults you may have found. Or you may like to wait until the new patch comes out. I think that the servers are unranked. But not all that sure

that server i was playing was ranked [ea europe #03 if i remember correctly]

i managed to play 4hours straight without ctd/server crash. it was nice.

SsssHHhhhhh not all, some are sending stats. EA gave the GSP's the option

O.K. I guess the secret is out........ Really, if you want to play the new RTJ map learn it and get an edge on everyone when it is released. You can be raking up the kills while everyone else is running around learning the new layout.

Find the strategic spots. Even reports some bugs and game play issues. Make this a grat map. 1.4 still needs some tweaks IMO but it is looking good. :)

No, there are limited servers running the beta, hence the "beta". It is worth installing and trying out. You can get a chance to see some of the performance improvements made. They have gotten rid of the crash to desktop problem.
You can also play the new map that will be included in the patch. I've played it and I thought it was an awesome addition.

No, it will just be an option for the server to have infantry only now.
