    Re: Mouse sensitivity for infantry

Ever since I got my new computer with X1900xtx,

I play with very high senstivity because my computer is lag free. My old rig wasn't too bad either, a 6800 GT, and wasnt too bad, but with the new card, it is 100% lag free.

High sensitivity can do everything low sensitivty can and more, provided that the player can use high like a pro.

0.3 for infantry. 1.2 for cars/TOWs/whatever. 10 for everything else.

got a very low sens on a huge mousepad:

        0.2

A 180 degree turn means moving the mouse over 20cm.

I have a Logitech G5 Laser Mouse and I made a setting of 1200 DPI when playing Infantry, 2000 DPI when flying a Jet, and a whopping 200 DPI when sniping.

I could never play without this mouse. It absolutely owns.

High sense is for people that are twitch shooters typically, people like me that come from UT, AvP, TacOps usually have their mouse sense cranked up high so that you spend less time picking your mouse up and more time shooting at people in crowded areas. Going against someone with a low sens in a medium range with little movement would probably put the low sens person at an advantage.

Low sense is for people that like to take their time with their aiming, you'll spend more time picking up your mouse in a heavy area (several people in one small building) and will probably get nailed as your picking your mouse up. Good for sniping and medium pick shots with accurate rifles. If you go against someone that circle strafes you a lot, your probably gonna have a hard time keeping up.

Those are just generally speaking, not hardened fact. In the end, it all comes down to personal preference, mouse sens doesn't mean someone is noob or pro at all.

About 6 years of league experience fills you in some of these things.

I use a sensitivity of 2. Once, I tried a game with the sensitivity bar to the max. I ended up with no kills and a whole bunch of deaths.

My rule of thumb is, as low as possible to the point where you don't have to reorientate you hand again to reach each edge of the screen.

I use a trackball mouse so I want it low enough where I have some presicion, but high enough so that I can sweep from one side of the screen to the other with out taking my finger off the trackball.

For vehicles it can be different, some what higher so I can perform a 180 with a tank turret or an AA implacement.

In my experiance changing sensitivity you usually need to get used to it before you start to see results. Play a few rounds in singleplayer or even multiplayer if you don't care about getting pwned. I alwyas found high sensitivity to be better than low but than agian I play games like CS:S and DoD:S.

I usually keep mine pretty low. but either way if you look at my stats you'll see it doesn't matter, I suck no matter what.

You can't share what your real sensitivity is with any meaning in this thread. There is also a sensitivity set in windows that has an influence as well. Plus, each mouse has different dpi's.

                                sheesh.
