    CTD on Launch

    Ok, getting to the point

Everytime I try to launch BF2, it changes screen resolution, goes to black screen for a few sec as though preparing the intro, then quits back to desktop without showing me anything, no error, nothing, as though I didnt even launch the game.

this started happening a few month ago, all of a sudden, when I moved my computer to another city and converted to using wireless. Back then I thought it might be the problem with my new place and new connection, so I didnt bother playing it.

Now I moved back to my old place, put back my old connection, its still giving me the same problem.
I tried to reinstall the game twice, second time I completely removed everything, related to the game and reinstalled fresh from cd, still have the same problem.

I have P4 540 3.2 with Leadtek 6600GT and 512mb ddr4200 ram. but it worked perfectly before and I doubt its hardware related.
As for driver, I have the latest driver, but it couldnt be driver related either since everyone is using this driver without problem...

I am out of ideas on whats causing the problem, the only thing I could think of right no is do a complete system reinstall to see if that fixes anything... but its really a pain in the *** and I dont want to do it just for a game.

anyone have/had the same problem or know whats causing it?

    thanks in advance.

Make sure you are using refresh rates and a resolution compatible with your monitor. If you are using the 91.31 driver, people are having problems with it, especially older cards, I prefere the 84.21 driver as it is less buggy.

Or cut out your bf2 folder in your documents, and paste it somewhere else, then start BF2...
