64 player map with 16-24 player capacity, long rounds. High points, now they are allowed and not against the ROE as long as they allow everything, like the server doesn't say ''you can't use that weapon or that vehicle'' it has to have everything in play otherwise its against the ROE. I asked one of the EA staff and that was what they said.

      Legal High Point Servers:
Servers with large map sizes (64 for example) and maximum players size set to a small value (16 for example).

      Illegal High Point Servers:
usually same as above, but vehicles are limited, and/or weapons are limited, and/or commander abilities are limited.
Ticket Ratios set to a high rate to ensure a long game time.

I played on one last night (64 player Karkand with only 20 players) and as a group we decided to only use infantry and transports.

Always fun until some one comes through and blasts everyone with a APC when we're all medics.

Exactly. I see them as servers with nice long play times for a map. Everything should be no different than a regular Map except that there are fewer people and it takes longer to fight the battle.

I recall JO Advance and Secure maps that took hours or days to resolve a battle.

Iv played in some high point servers where the commander actually will get points for getting kills with normal weapons. i was commander and i won the round and ended up getting 140 points becuz 1. the game was very long and 2. i was commander so my score doubled.

Commander doesnt' get points for kills. Only points for players getting points via the following math. (player point/number of players on side at time of point). Played on a server last night. 12/64 on the server. The round was almost an Hour. My final command score after double was just under 200. But man did it seem to last forever :)

Okay, good. Ive been on high points servers before, not knowing that they were against ROE, but all the ones Ive been on were just large maps with low players, but gameplay was still normal. Guess that makes them legal.

I would think to put that type of server in the illegal category as well, and at the least the "lame" category.

Why would people join these things anyways? I mean, do you suddenly expect your skillz to go ub3r just 'cause the server says 'high points'.

I got an idea, shoot more, die less, get in a squad and play as a team - thats my definition for having a 'high points' server.

The thing is... It's no different to playing on a normal 64 player server with only a dozen people in (Except that other people "could" join during the game)... I've done that a few times. But you could probably score as many points playing 4 "normal" rounds in the same amount of time.

I find long round servers tend to get boring because all anyone ever does is flag hop. Rarely that action gets even semi-intense.

I think it depends on the server really regarding its intensity, if there are good players that are more into the fighting then you can have a really fun (and long) round. I know of 2 servers where its 20 players with the clan who runs the server on one side actually using tactics and strats to create chokes and such, they usually have a good pilot in the air and a good chopper team as well. So if the opposing team uses teamwork and squads you end up having breat battles.

True you have your flag hoppers but they usually end up getting killed a lot and leaving. The points arent all that high really since you may play one round for an hour or more and could have gotten the same, if not more, points on regular servers. If you have a lower end system it offers more space with less lag, giving everyone a a chance to play the larger maps without much difficulty. In other words it has its place, isnt illegal and can be a blast in the right servers. Just a matter of choice really.

Thanks man. The Nato thing is kinda depressing, I was an admin there for quite some time, and once TacOps died it just started to decline. They just didnt get the nessesary updates done to compete with sites like TWL.

And thanks man, we're trying :)

yeah I was an admin of the BF2 ladders, but the numbers just werent there and the admins along side were sorta flaky to say the least. After that one clan cheated the win of the cup it just went straight downhill. I just gave up. Still as you said a little depressing after so many years there. you guys still got SteveAustin in STK?

Again congrats on the sponser, really couldnt have gone to a more deserving clan. Ill join your server and check it out.
