Problem with the new patch, need to reinstall...

I forgot to copy the BF2 folder and rename it so i could revert back to version 1.3, so i decided to reinstall a full patch of V1.22, it installed, then i tried to install an incremental patch from 1.22 to 1.3, but it said that i need version 1.22 installed eventhough i just installed it. So i said, ok then, and i decided i'd stick with the 1.4 beta 1, but then i found out about 1.4 beta 2, so i got the full update installed it, and now my game doesnt start up. The BF2 screen pops up, the screen goes black, then it goes back to my desktop. Does anyone else have this problem? Or do i need to do a complete reinstall? And if i reinstall what will happen to my expansion packs (EF, AF and SF) ?

i have the same problem, tried installing 1.3 again but still messes up
