BF2 doesnt load after splash screen :(

Hi, i used to play BF2 on my pc all the time but ive been playing it alot latley on my dads becuase he has a better graphics card, i have to use my own now as my dad has sold his pc, anyway my problem is whenever i try load bf2, the splash screen will load then nothing happens, if i look on tesk manager i can see bf2.exe is running and is useing around 47% of my cpu but nothing happens after the splash screen , ive tryed 3 reinstalls and dont know were to go from there, any ideas whould be great, thanks :)

So it used to work ok. You left it alone and didn't change anything and now it doesn't work anymore?

BTW, theer's a manual install method explained in the stickys in this forum which describes how to remove everything to make sure it's being installed properly.

Had the same exact problem about 5 days ago, after doing virus checks, defragging, uninstalling/reinstalling, removing/installing vid drivers, doing registry fix...nothing worked. I just formatted my comp yesterday and it works now. Thats was the only thing that fixed the game for me.

If bf2 just stops after the splash screen, your software firewall may be blocking it from accessing the internet.

Check your firewall logs.

If you are behind a gateway router with NAT running, then try disabling any software firewall running on your computer and then run BF2.

If you are not behind a gateway router, then do not disable your firewall but check the rights there for the bf2.exe.
