its not a force field dude the radar helps guid small pellets and it hits the the thing before it hits the armor

But with BF2142 comes the advent of the Active Defense, replacing the smoke and flares it protects the vehicle from damage.

Dont count on it replacing smoke, smoke isn't just used as a defence tool.
