Zooming in with the pistol for better aim...

With the raw stopping power and clip capacity of most of the rifles in the game, a lot of players dont take the time to learn how to use the pistol. However, there are some people out there who are very good with the pistol. If you are one of those people, then have a read here...

How many of you zoom in with your pistol to get better accuracy? When zoomed in, it removes the crosshair and gives you those super tiny iron sights on the pistol.

Whenever I use my pistol it is for close range shots, as I only use it when I am a sniper. Does zooming in, allow you to hit targets from far away a lot easier? I read somewhere that the pistol is actually the most accurate weapon in the game... I hate the zoomed in view of the pistol, and dont do it very often. What I am asking is, should I take the time to learn/adjust to the zoomed in view, so I can pick targets off from a far away... perhaps after sniping them once.... or will the non-zoomed in view suffice?

i find the scope of the silenced pistol, which is a default sniper pistol, a little harder to aim with than the normal unsilenced pistol because the silencer impedes the view somewhat. But then maybe its just me...

The sniper rifle/pistol combination is excellent, if they are a fair distance away then zoom in but if not then just level the cross hairs and squeeze off a few shots, 2 should finish them off.

I do find the unsilenced pistol easier to zoom, aim and shoot but with a bit of practice it should become 2nd nature.

As far as accuracy is concerned the pistol is freakishly accurate at long distances! Good when going Sniper though:)

So what you are saying is..... wait, there are pistols in this game? Honestly I tend to use the pistol more than I'd like as AT cause my DAO ran out of shells... I zoom every time to get better aim, I just never seem to get the kill against someone with a PKM in my face-

ya, the pistol is like as accurate as a sniper rifle, its pretty decent too if you know how to use it.

close range most of the time its in normal mode, but for range i zoom and usually hit the target

its fun playing a round sniping with a pistol,

I hardly ever use the crosshairs for any gun. Maybe the odd moment when i'm surprised by a goon jumping from the bushes, but that's about it. Works well for me seeing as i play CoD alot which has the ironsight thingy too, hate it when i play CSS though, feels like i'm playing a 10 year old game..wait, i am, just with nice graphics.

Actually the graphics in CoD2 look better too

Deviation with pistols while standing UN-zoomed is about .70

Deviation with pistols while standing ZOOMED is about .35

Pistols are about twice as accurate when zoomed.

*This only applies to first shots.

i hate using the sights on pistols but i only use it at close range or when im running around as sniper

I use my pistol a fair amount. I've been able to hit targets at distances I thought were odd by using the iron sights. I don't use them very often as I don't like being stuck in a position like that.

But for raw infantry combat I roll in with my AK, and clean up with the pistol. Just aim for the head and let it rip...

I use a black pen to put a small dot on my monitor so that I can run around and not have to zoom in to aim at things.

the iron sight on the US pisto land china pistol i think are brilliant, just but the little black thing over there head and squezze 2-4 shots off. as for the MR-444 (MEC pistol) i hate the ironsights, just cant use them.

and btw i'm happy just got expert pistol legitimantly (bloody hard tho)

Use transparent tape that doesn't leave a residue.

Its very easy to get nice pistol kills:
In close range shoot without zoom but shoot quick and aim for the head.
In distance: use zoom and make single shots.

If your automatic gets empty don't reload. Knife him

When aiming, should your intended target be just covered by the ironsight, or just above it? I've never really known for sure.
