BF2 1.3 patch "can't find BF2 install folder"

I recently installed BF2 and I downloaded patch 1.3 from Fileshack and I went to install the patch which is on the same drive as BF2 is installed and I got the error "Can't find install folder for BF2". I even put the patch in the install folder and no luck. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

What that's saying is that the registry entry for Battlefield 2 is either not there or is pointing to the wrong place. If you're comfortable looking at your registry then run regedit (Start, Run, Regedit) and look for..

SOFTWARE\\Electronic Arts\\EA Games\\Battlefield 2

This will be under either Local Machine or Current User.

Once you've found that post back here what the InstallDir key says, plus also post where your BF2 install is. I suggest you don't modify your registry yet as it'd probably be best to try and work out why that might be wrong first.

Ok thanks for your help, here's a screenshot of the registery under what you said, and the game is installed at C:\Program Files\EA GAMES/Battlefield 2. Thanks.
