Re: How do you control when you drive?

If I could find an easy to also get my dual shock gamepad controller working alongside my joystick in BF2, I'd like to try using it for driving jeeps...I had always thought about hooking up my steering wheel, but that's just excessive

KB/M for everything on the ground....But,

When in a transport (jeep), I hit C and kick on the chase-cam so I can see my surroundings better. If I am capping, I might cycle through my cam views for security.

Dang..you cannot use more than 1 joystick device with Battlefield 2 (just like all of the other BF games).

            What a shame

i find that you see your surroundings better in 1st person because you can almost look behind you in the buggy's. the line of site if you move the mouse is almost 300 degrees. takes a bit of practice though, but i recommend you try it.

Yes, you have a far view in a buggy and even 360° in a tank. But, the tank turret turns slow and it's far easier to switch to third person instead of having to moving your mouse like a maniac. Plus in third person you can see a special ops trying to sneak up behind you and roll over him, or take appropriate action.

Agreed. I use the outside view on tanks for that reason but ALSO:

If all of a sudden my tank starts magically repairing itself - I hit f10 to check the location of a possible engineer (don't want to run over my new best friend)

Keyboard and mouse, but I'l switch to chase cam when in a jeep or a passenger position in a BH, so I can tell the pilot if we're being followed.

Thank GOD someone does that. The number of times I've been run over trying to do a good deed. Jesus it's idiotic what some people do. And 90% of the time I thnk they are backing up for the hell of it. There isn't any immediate danger. Or if there is, I want to be as far from it as possible, and sometimes when I'm NEXT to the tank I still get run over.

I have my Logitech Joystick also for flying. I'm crappy at it, but I do have the 2 joysticks at the same time.

Not sure I follow you, but I prefer the cam angles because I don't want to get in the turret of a Jeep to be sniped out at a CP. I feel I can always get the jump on someone if I am still in my drivers seat and have a good angle view. When you are in a Vodnik, you view with the mouse is super limited inside the cab.

Oh? So you can use BOTH your Joystick AND your Gamepad?

Did you have to do anything special to get that to happen?
