depends on map, the USMC engineer shotgun is the best Karkhand - 1 shot kill and AT mines. L96A1 sniper rifle in Sharqi. The rest depends.

yeh i had a quick blast with it, never use it after getting the MG36LMG and PKM but think im going to use more often cos i had a good kill streak the other night. Has anyone else noticed if the SAW has been improved in the last patch?

The G36E isn't fully automatic. It's only got semi-auto and burst. The G36C (spec ops first unlock) is the full auto version of the G36-family of guns.

Which gun is the best depends on what you're doing. You can't make a sweeping statement. On a sniper map, you really need a sniper rifle rather than a carbine, however great that carbine might be. But in close-quarters, sniper rifles are rubbish and you'll probably want a shotgun (or maybe a full-auto-capable assault rifle like the AK family).

He probably means the G36K, the SAS SF weapon, which has burst and full-auto settings.

You are as far as I'm concerned. I genuinely hate that gun. It's just too inconsistant to be useful, even on single shot. Some people swear by it, though.

I've only just started using it with Medic, after being a G3 assault man for some months now. Have to say I was pleasantly suprised.

It varies by map, really. For Wake, I find that the G36C for medic is extremely powerful, but I rape with the PKM on Karkland.
