Armor badge not adjusted - WHY?

It may be too late to ask this, but maybe we're lucky and EA/DICE can patch it on 1.4. Oddly enough, all vehicle badges had their global requirements lowered:

    Helicopter / Aviator : Veteran from 100h to 50h, Expert from 400h/300h to 150h
Ground Defense / Air Defense: All global requirements removed

Why the armor badges were left behind? (100h for Veteran, 400 for Expert).

I'd have to whore Karkand all day long to get the Expert... :|:

Probably because it's easier to use armor. Plus every map has armor, and two kinds of armor at that (tank and apc). That'd be my guess why.

It's harder to be good at jets and helos and there are less of them.

As long you have Veteran Badges for everything you should be fine rank wise.

Any vehicle is availible as long you are willing to use a good internet connection to visit higher ping servers to accrue the time needed. Quiet small servers with good game play are out there for all vehicles.

So why the requirements weren't higher in the first place?

I think they forgot the Armor Badges, because the Armor Combat Medal's requirements were lowered (250h to 100h, 10k kills to 5k).

I still think armor requirements should be lowered, if not evened with aviator/chopper. 100 hours, armor whoring or not, is still a long time, and 400 hours is insane. Most of the leaderboard guys don't have expert armor because it takes so long. Maybe 60 hours for veteran and 120 hours for expert? Sound reasonable DICE?

I think it should be like as helo/aviator now, 50h for Vet and 150 for Expert.

I think most of people don't even get to play 400 hours total :p

its easyer to get 1 hour in a plane or heli
than it is to get 1 hour in armor

This logic is flawed as exposed here:

That actually makes a lot of sense. I really don't think it's worth reducing the criteria for medals as it is. The medals were designed to be earned over a period of months. They weren't designed to be earned in a week or 2. This is not a console game where you can "beat it" in a week or less.
You dont have to play one specific map either, every map has tanks and APC's just about. I started using armor because I got tired of having to sit and wait at the airfield for a chopper or a jet only to get shot right out of it.

Umm. Unless you are an ace pilot. WIth armor you have to learn to use it like anything else. You ahve to be prepared for 3 AT guys to run around any corner and wax you, engineers and Spec ops are always lurking around.

Heh I don't even have 400 hours total playtime. I think I have around 380.

no its not i can play for 1hour just using planes and get maybe 45-50mins of aviator time

then try the same thing in a tank and only get 30-40mins armor time

why because its easyer to kill a tank and when im in a plane i can fly for 3mins,4mins - even the whole round without being attacked in the air let alone dieing

Edit: it all depends on what map

I think the Infantry-only setting will have a huge impact on the servers and overall gameplay. Probably a lot of servers will have it turned on and it will become even harder to get the armor badges.

Are you implying that it requires more skill to use Armor than Choppers/Jets?
If you are, please tell me it's a joke.

This is pretty contradictory, isn't it? You see, you get more aviator time than armor time, but still the aviator's requirements are lower.

i think some wires have been crossed here
I think ITS harder to get Armor time unless all you play is city maps

Aircraft and armor are 2 different things in terms of skill. In the air you have to worry about other jets and AA to some extent. On the ground you have to worry about mines, C4, AT kits, other tanks, APC's, TOWs, artillery, etc. I personally think it's easier to get armor time. Draw your own conclusions.

With so many people teamkilling for aircraft, sitting in throngs at the airstrip waiting, it's virtually impossible to get into aircraft for most people. I dont TK for vehicles so that is one point. And like I said, unless you are good pilot the chances that someone can survive in a jet are pretty low considering that you will undoubtedly come across some really good pilots. I think I was implying that since the 2 are so different and the aircraft requiring more skill to use and the armor luck to stay alive. Like I said, draw your own opinions.

Ridiculous statement... it takes months to get 100 hours in armor. 400 hours will take me almost a year. Expert Armor is the badge that the less amount of people have. At the time of this post only 163 people have the expert armor badge, and it's the time requirement. Ridiculous. I don't agree with lowering the requirements to the same as helos or planes, but 400 hours is insane. Maybe 200 for expert would be better.
