How to make a mod?

I have done modding on different games before and I was thinking about making a mod for BF2, to start out all I want to do is have a new map and make skin changes...

If anyone can point me to the programs I need to make a bf2 mod its appreciated.

you will want a dds plugin for photoshop to do the skins and you can get it from nvidia (i am sure there are dds plugins for other gfx progs, but i personally use photoshop)

and you also want the editor which i am sure is available from the totalbf site

i already have DDS where is is the editor??
