"you just need to know how to use it"

After browsing this forum for quite a while.. Why does it seem that in almost every thread there as to be some smart arse who need to say "you just need to know how to use it........................................ <<<<< insert almost anything there within bf2."


If u can take teh time to post 3 paragraphs of how your a much better in E world than hell ever be.with your uber skillz and your almost perfect kill to death ratio....

People would in my view look at u as a lot better player and forum member, if u just explain to the poor guy were hes going wrong ?

It's just you.. You're obviously having a bad day, blame the weather. :)

For every "smart arse" that says ""you just need to know how to use it", there's at least one more who posts a paragraph, or a link to a vid' showing how they do whatever they do. The decent posts tend to appear in response to the more sane appeals for help, rather than the "teh sux!" whiney threads. :)

I think it's also just you. Every asset on the Battlefield requires a different approach to use it. You can't expect the AT rocket to act the same as the sniper rifle, for example. If you know how use it, chances are that you had to practice at it. if you get some guy complaining that "This gun is teh suxxorz wtf", he's probably going to ask EA to nerf it, maybe not directly but those are the comments that EA listens to.

So, you need to tell him that that asset can be used, and it takes a certain skill to use it. It also takes practice. if you don't have a vid to explain, or you just want him to learn on his own like you had to, you tell him that you have to know how to use it.

In my experience its hit or miss around here. If someone thinks you're whining or you're asking a dumb question(s) they will flame away.

Agreed, it DOES matter how you ask any question - but it seems that this forum exists for people to complain about what they don't like and flame people/servers they don't like. (I'm having a great day by the way)

Still, some posters have really put together thoughtful and helpful things that I've found here, and that's what keeps me coming back. I prefer to think of the world (and this forum) as a 'you get out what you put in' kinda place...

I undertsand how each thing on the battlefield works different.... I played bf since the day the bf1942 demo came out.. and i brought both bf1942 and bf2 on day of release ive also worked on a few mods. and defiantly played my fair share...

It the whole you just need to know how to use it and then the guy then goes on to put the thread poster down and as to prove how better he is in E world..

what im trying to say is instead of adding nothing to a thread.Well unless u class flexing your skillz contructive....Just use those few lines up to help the guy..

I'm not saying you in particular don't know that. In fact, this is my first game in the BF series so I haven't played 1942 or BFV. I don't really see it as "flexing your skillz" but more along the lines of letting the other guy know that they need to find a way around whatever's stopping them from using the particular asset. This is probably lack of practice with whatever asset. So imho, it is constructive because it lets them know that it's not a worthless waste of space, but a helpful asset that, with practice, can be used effectively.

I try to help as much as possible. I rarely just say "You have to know how to use it". I usually add some tips aswell.
