CTD when you click Multiplayer

I just had this happen to me today. I wloaded up bf2, clicked mulitplayer, and joined a server, but before it started loading, it gave me CTD. So i load up bf2 again and the same thing happens.

The only thing i did in the bf2 folder was copy the soudns folder to my desktop, but i didn't change any files in the folder.

Anyone else have this problem or know how to fix it?

Well I have CTD's once I join some servers. And then when I go back in to join other servers I'm playing perfectly fine. So frustrating when I can't join some of my favorite servers because I keep crashing out, then when I join a different server it's perfectly fine. A big WTF to you BF2

Sounds similar to a problem i had when i installed the paintball mod, but you state that the only thing that you have done is copy some sounds files. I can't think of anything other than re-install. Sorry.
