Is there some unwritten rule or something about runways when to jets are going to reload, are both jets meant to turn right to avoid each other or what ever or just both try and reload and hope you don't have a collision? It’s happened to me a few times now and it gets a bit annoying.

No real rules or etiquette here...just turn anyway you want and pray the other guy turns the other way
Edit: tho i noticed that on most maps there is a direction that most pilots ten to choose to realod, this happens most commonly on maps with carriers when the us jets will mostly come from the side with the AA -

Communication never hurts though. If you can write him a message or VoIP him, it'd be a lot easier. In general though, most pilots like to go over the runway the same direction the planes take off.Comment

I think there are several sets of rules to avoid collision of the jets are in visual range. I may be wrong here since I read about this a LONG time ago (inexcusable since I studied one year in the flight school :P). In head on collision course both turn to right. In collision rourse where they are coming at each other or moving towards collision point one goes up other goes down.
Again, I may be wrong since I never had to use this knowledge and just forgot.
What I do in BF2 is, if Im higher than the guy coming at me, I turn to right and pull up. If Im lower, I try to get as low as possible while maintaining the course.Comment

If i see a jet heading straight for me when im on the runway i first hope that the other pilot moves out the way and then i proceeed to do the same (turn right and shoot up). Occasionally though you have to watch out for the sheer tarts that go on the runway.
reminds me of a cool move i made as i was taking off. I had a tank on the runway and the transport heli taking off, the transport heli shot forward and got above the tank so i crapped it, but... i made it through the gap and ducked my head down as i was doing it :laugh:

I have noticed that some airfields do not repair/rearm as good in some directions. For example on operation RR if you're the us and you fly the way the a-10 takes off it doesn't repair you all of 1/2 a bar maybe 1 bar but if you go the other direction it gives you like 2-3 bars if not more.Comment

I think a good etiquette point would be to use your own runway to reload. If each jet uses its own runway they shouldn't collide. Of course this doesn't work for a carrier and then I just try to be more aware of where the other jet is.
You can't really say to go the same direction over the airport because sometimes you have to reload from the other way.Comment

stick to the side of the runway you tookoff from and look at the minimap.
also when taking off if your on the outside lane dont turn into the path of the guy on the inside. the amount of times some retard flies into me as we just took off :|Comment
