LAN SERVER Problem "Your Connection to the Server has Been Lost"

There has been lots of posts regarding
"Your Connection to the Server has Been Lost"

but what happens when you get this message on a LAN server.

Iam having a lan day next week and have setup a 1.3mhz Server which seems to run ok, I then have 3 machines atm the connect to it.
1x amd 2700, 1gb ram
1x amd 2800, 1gb ram
1x amd 4400 x2, 2gb ram

the 4400 always says "Your Connection to the Server has Been Lost"
either once I click on the server or a 1-5mins in the game

The other two pcs are fine.

my concern is what happens when people turn up to the lan and they get kicked all the time.

Can anyone help on this I have a lan day in a weeks time and I wont be able to play because my system says "Your Connection to the Server has Been Lost" all the time.

Background.
I Just built a windows 1.3mhz, 1gb ram Server with 1.3patch and 1.3 server.
Which will be used on the day
I have 3 test systems connecting. two systems work no problems the third keeps coming up with "Your Connection to the Server has Been Lost"

I also tried rebuilding the PC that disconnects and installing all the latest drivers
It is a
AMD 4400x2
2gb Dual Channel
Gigabyte k9n-f MB using 6.86 nforce drivers
GA 7800GTX using 91.33 Drivers
Audigy2 ZS using latest drivers
Zboard
Logitech Mx518 Mouse
Logitech Extreme 3D Pro

And nothing else is installed other than BF,SF,AF + 1.3 Patch


They connected via a 24port switch and a Router to do DHCP, I also tested without the router and static addresses and have tested no switch all plugged into the router.

Still it does it.

Im getting into panic mode because I need my machine to be stable

Since you have not had any posts about this, I will give it a shot.

For LAN play, are you disabling PB so the client does not have to connect to the PB site?

What IP is assigned to the server machine?

What IP are you using to connect to the server with from the clients?

I ask the client question just to make sure that you are connecting using the local IP address and not the public IP.

More than likely, the PB check is causing the problem.

Also, try using the "default" non-internet user to play BF2 on your local server to see if that makes a difference with your connection(s).

Please post your results and answers.

Server is using a static address of 192.168.0.200
The client is 192.168.0.2
The other working machines are just 192.168.0.3 and .4
all machines are connecting with Offline game accounts (I have tested with online)

Ive tested with the switch not connected to the Internet at all, just the server and 3 clients.
When I go to join Lan the server is in the list no worries it just gets kicked


Checking PB is a good idea, I did install it when installing the Game onto the server. is there a way to disable it or should I just uninstall and reinstall with out it.

In the server list, is it displaying the 192.168.0.200 IP?

Try connecting the users using the IP instead of the browser link.

To turn off PB, in the serversettings.con file set:

GameServerSettings.setSvPunkBuster 0

OK thanks Ill try that after work

PB was already off on the server,
I had someone else come over and try there system and it was ok, it seems its just my one machine.

Tonight I tried,

Disabling onboard lan and inserting 3com NIC
Remove Audigy 2 ZS and using onboard Audio
Replace RAM
Downgraded Nvidia driver to 84.xx
uninstall BF and reinstall with just BF and 1.3 patch (no addons)

And after all that it still disconnects.

I just rebuilt windows again and this time just loaded nvidia driver and bf and 1.3, no windows updates nothing and it still does it

I then loaded BF2 server onto another machine and tested it with that and it still does it

ITS ALL GOOD,

just for people who read this in the future the problem was with the CPU
because it was a AMD X2 Dual core

My PC has been conected for 3 hours now.
Funny because I could play online ok but as soon as i joined a LAN game its troubles came out.

But all good now
