BF2 + Vista = NO?

I've been playing BF2 for a year now on XP, and recently decided to try out Windows Vista Beta 2 (I don't care what you think about it, I don't want to hear about it here).

However the game crashes to desktop everytime after loading a map at around 50% complete. I did a search on these forums, found a big Vista thread and reference to some drivers that make it work?

In case you need my PC specs:
AMD Athlon 64 3500+ 2.20Ghz
Gainward Bliss nVidia geforce 6800 GS PCI-E
2Gb RAM

so what u asking for help? Maybe the Microsoft site would be better as its obviouly not the game thats at fault. PLus Vista is BETA as u clearly stated.

happend to me too. I use Forceware 77.52 for Vista now which works but the overall gameplay is far from smooth. I have a stutter every 3 seconds or so and the overall FPS feels lower then with 2k.

Forceware 77.52...from nividia website or something? I'll try Googling it now.

Ok so the Forceware worked...I can play.

BUT: I got instantly kicked by PB for 'Inadequte O/S privaliages'.
Not sure how i'm gonna get round this one...

and also im running bf2 on vista no probs.... so keep trying.

Yes as I said, those drivers got it to work, but now it's telling me about my O/S ¬_¬

Any ideas?

hm i had no trouble with 2k+BF2 so far. BF2 gave me a warning "only tested with XP" or something but it still runs ok on Vista and 2K
€dit: ah yes the PB...do the following:
Rightclick the BF2 shortcut -> Run as Administrator
Your User-account you use at the Vista Login should be in the Administrator group.

Must be a driver problem then. How's your framerate whilst playing with Vista?

It actually seems very good, only slightly reduced.
