I would like to start to learn how to use Vegas,
Does anyone know any good (free) tutorials to get me started

I don't know if your one of those kinesthetic learners but I would greatly suggest you master windows movie maker beforehand. The best thing about Vegas is it's "pick up and edit" package values. You will quickly lose interest if all you do is read read read. The best learning is only fun through practical work.

Ok i've edited and now i've spelt it right :p Shame I cant edit the Title, shows how new I am to the program

I've used Ulead and Pinnacle alot in the past, but i find them very limiting at what they can do and I would like to try something with more features.

To tell you the truth, i started off playing with it myself, then asking others about more advanced features.

vasst.com has some tuts, although i never go there.

Losing interest, I typically would agree, but I found myself more and more interested to do things with Vegas as I read the possibilities with the manual. "Oh, I've gotta try that!!"

I fully agree on the second part though.

Tinkering is best. Changes happen in real-time, so you can set a section to loop, make changes, and see it happen.

In one week, I've learned alot of thing. Of course, with the help of the manual and online help (yea, thx C22_yrethguad and Xalias)

I finally burned my 1 hour project on DVD, works perfect. (but lolz, the second tv in the house is "square" so, the edges are cutted ) hehe. gotta watch out for that next time

Yeah, that's a problem I'm dealing with now. That's what the "safe zone" is for. TVs tend to cut off the edges of media.

You can't make an anamorphic movie?

So that if you have a widescreen tv your movie becomes widesceen and if your tv is a standard, it makes letterboxes.
