Greetings everyone! Remember years ago when team fortress 2 was first being developed? (If you arent familiar with team fortress classic it was a team class based fps multiplayer mod of the original half life) Now after years of secrecy and a complete graphics change Valve has confirmed that Team Fortress 2 was not abandoned and will be included in a bundle with half life 2's episode 2 due to arrive this fall. Gabe newell claims tf2 will be the best looking , most fun team based multiplayer game to date and the graphics wil closely resemble pixar animations like the movie toy story and the incredibles for example. There has only been one official screenshot but valve will be releasing more media next week. This official screenshot im including is claimed to be in game footage and not a render. The screenshot includes a picture of each of the classes (soldier , spy , sniper , heavy weapons , demoman, engineer, pyro, medic and scout.) and it shows the over exaggerated graphics style. Take a look:

Re: Team Fortress 2
Being a TFC player since 2000, I'm very excited about the news on TF2. I really hope it does well. Also, still keep in mind that the Fortress Forever programmers are still working hard on the community version, which should still keep with the flow of TFC from a player's standpoint, rather than what Valve wants.
I'm anticipating both and am optimistic that one or both teams can provide with great team based gameplay that I, along with others, have grown to love.

Unfortunately, I believe that add-ons like NeoTF is one thing that killed pubbing in TFC. I still recall hearing "can someone upgrade my MG" so many times.Originally posted by hebrewhammer14i remember the good old days of neotfc running into enemy bases, touching a piece of metal (multi gun) and killing them all when they spawn, if tfc2 comes out i will definitly buy it
But I'd still play it if it was played on a full no-bot server.
PS Fortress Forever is going into beta (closed beta ATM) within the next week or so. They're hoping for a late-August/early-September release. But of course the release depends on how the beta works out. You can read more at their official website:http://www.fortress-forever.com/

Re: Team Fortress 2
Team Fortress (TFC/QTF) has never been about realism. It's always been about a fast action flow. It's also always looked somewhat cartoony.Originally posted by Sub_zer0I must admit I dislike the cartoony look of it..
Plus, if it's anything like it's been in the past, all models will be customizable, so you can play using your realistic looking models once someone models them.
Aside from that, the look of the models is already getting mixed reviews. But I don't care as much as what the models look like. As long as the gameplay is there, I'm good.

hopefully we'll see the tf2 trailer as promised this week. That should give us more hints at what the graphics and models look like in action.

Re: Team Fortress 2
For some reasone, i get a NOLF vibe coming from it. Thats not a bad thing though. That was one of the better games ever made. GOTY 2000. I think:)

Wow, looks really nice! I personally love the look, it seems to suit the game. Who cares about realistic? I would rather have a fun game looking cartoony, than a realistic looking one (GRAW) that is dreadful to play.Originally posted by Sharp

Re: Team Fortress 2
I have mixed feelings on the teaser video. I'm going to wait until I see screen shots from the actual game to base my thoughts, but the video just didn't seem like TF to me. But if they're just hoping to get the word out and allow new people not familiar with the game to get excited, then I think it works.
