Installing SF - Need Clarification

I did a search on how to install SF as apparently it's abit weird. From what i found is that:

• Install 1.4 BETA 2 (or whatever patch) to BF2
• Install SF
• Re-install 1.4 BETA 2, even though my BF2 already has 1.4 BETA 2 installed on it

Is this how it is?



Also, are there 1.4 BETA 2 servers for SF? (I just bought SF, for quite cheap, and should be getting it tommorow)

Edit: If anyones wondering how i have SF unlocks even though i still don't have SF it's becuase a mate played a round of SF under my account

I just installed BF then SF then the patch.

Whatever you do you just need to end up installing the latest patch last. When you install SF you're essentially downgrading your BF2 install.

Yup. SF is basically patch version 1.10, so you install BF2, then SF, then the full version of the latest patch.

Whether you choose to do 1.3 or 1.4b is up to you, but personally I'd only bother with 1.3. You need 1.3 to be able to play on the regular servers, since all players need to be running the same version. The 1.4 beta patch will only be used on the 1.4 beta servers. If you don't intend to play BF2 to be a beta tester, don't bother installing the beta patch.

As far as I know, the 1.4 beta servers are just for vanilla BF2, but I'm not 100% sure on that.

1. Reinstall BF2
2. Install BF2 SF
3. Install 1.3
4. (optional) copy your BF2 folder and install 1.4 BETA 2
