6600LE Giving me problems

I recently purchased a Forsa 6600 LE. I decided to do a full reformatting with my computer so everything would be running the best it could.

The problem I'm having is really starting to annoy me. This happens with any game I play whether it be Source/BF2/WoW etc.

I'm running a 1.7 ghz P4, 1.5 gb ram, I'm not a big tech wiz so I don't know much about hardware and all that stuff. But any help would be greatly appreciated!!

What Drivers are you using?

also what kinda temps are your cards running.

Latest driver, 91.31 and the highest temp I've seen was 42

When you re-installed Windows, did you remember to install the motherboard/chipset drivers?

Yeah I did. Motherboard is a AOpen AX45-533 if that helps..

Try testing each peice of RAM. I had 1.5GB as 2 x 512MB DIMMs running Dual channel and 2 x 256MB DIMMs running dual channel, and my computer hated running it in games and caused similar artifacts to what you are experiencing. What is your RAM configuration anyway (how many sticks doing what)?

Try what mlkmnz suggests, you also might want to go with a different driver. There seems to be a lot of people having a problem with the 91.31 and older cards for some reason.

I have 2 sticks 1 512 and 1 1gb. I'll try just using the 1gb and see if that helps a bit.
I used 3 different drivers and got the same problem through all of them

Try using each stick individually, if your image issues dissapear then at least you know its the RAM. You could also have a problem if they are different speeds.

It seems to work a little better with the 512. It's slower, and I have to lower my settings but theres still a few bits that dont work properly

Im pretty sure thats a driver problem, try some of the older drivers to see if the problem goes. I had problems with a 6600GT and new drivers.

But there are still artifacts in your image (weird spikey things?). If so, your ram is not the problem.

lol i posted this in his other post about this is what you may have to do

yes i whould have to say call the company and send it back in becuse if things are starting to go alike that call them up and tell them. and they will send it in so thats what i whould do. but let me ask you something you have to plug a extra power cord in right ? becuse some 6600 dont just plug in . now they req you plug a extra power cord in. but if you did and doing that ya i whould send it in . if its a good company they will send you a new one

Man I hope english isnt your native language, cause you suck at it.

I believe Spitfire is alluding to the fact that a lot of 6600 series cards require you to plug a molex connector into them. So basically, check to see if your card has a power socket (molex) connector on it and that you have a power cable plugged into it. If not then dont worry.
