    Stupid things and solutions

There are a lot of questionable decisions made by designers.
Maybe we can help them think over and improve the game we like so much.
    I made a short list:

    Problem:
-Vehicles explode in contact with water.
    Solution:
-Simply remove the vehicle, no explosion. Same timing.

    Problem:
-Engineers can place a mine on top of a vehicle and destroy it at the first move.
    Solution:
-Ability to lay mines on the ground only. Maybe underground.

    Problem:
-Knife hits on the legs are deadly.
    Solution:
-Make it deliver damage, not death.

    Problem:
-Supply box is repairing everything, like magic.
    Solution:
    -Give this job to engineers.

    Problem:
-Pistols are more accurate over longer distances then rifles.
    Solution:
-Give them a shorter range, increase bullet drop.

    Problem:
-Obstacles and road bumps are stronger then tanks.
    -Jumping without stamina.
    -Jumping down stairs inflict damage.
    Solution:
    -Don't!

Feel free to add more. I'm not talking about bugs here...

What is the difference between what you describe as a problem and a bug? If you are requesting or even suggesting a fix for that stuff then it can be considered a "bug".
You do understand that given the history of the BF2 patches that the simplest "improvement" can have disasterous consequences. Look at the memory leak introduced in the 2nd patch. That was unintentional I am sure, but in the midst of their "tuning" something went south. Another thing, with the 1.22 -> 1.3 patch look what happened with the refresh button and the massive CTD. That was also unintentional but a problem nonetheless.
I say leave it alone before all hell really breaks loose. The ease of which you can describe changes that should be made are actually a lot more complicated than you might think.

These "problems" are in fact intentional, this is the way they wanted it to be.
There are a lot of other problems (like CTDs for instance) which I consider bugs.

They are working on the patch, so now it's the right time to do it, as we are testing the patch anyway.

Eh? As if in make the vehicle disappear upon contact with water?

        Eh?!

The rest of your suggestions are just rubbish, can't be bothered adressing them at all.

I am telling you, before we know it they will remove the weapons, they are already removing the armor.

But at least, do you agree about the problems?

                    Problem:
                    -Getting killed
                    Solution:
-The same as a TK. I get an option wether to punish the player who killed me for -100 points.

                    Problem:
-Other people get more points than me
                    Solution:
-Charity points. +5 points for getting knifed. +5 points for spawning as far away from the action as possible. +5 for crashing vehicles. +5 for tking people. +5 for getting killed by a grenade/claymore.

                    Problem:
-People kill me over and over when I do the exact same thing every time!
                    Solution:
-Find every single BF2/EA forum and whine your *** off!

                      Re: Stupid things and solutions

I'd agree on a few of those if this was last year. Now that we're over 1 year into the game I really think that it's too late to change these game mechanics.

For example, the anti-squad-hopping feature was a really good idea. They just implemented the freakin thing so late in the game that it forced players to change the way they were playing. Every game, no matter how well tweaked, will never be balanced because the only way to get true balance is to have 20 players face another 20 players that all have the same exact skill level, which is kind of impossible.

Also remember that this is like a house of cards. If you change important game dynamics like the supply crate fixing armor, you could topple the entire house of cards and cause even more imbalance.

I'm not talking about balance, it's about the small annoying things that add together and make you more and more angry.
Although bugs are the most annoying of all!

Unfortunately it's true, they don't seem in control of their own code, like it was made by entirely different people then those that try to fix it.
Anyway, if it was 'usual' software, suggestions during beta testing would have been beneficial.

becasue DICE is retared, doenst mean we have to stop searching for improvements.

Umm...Not sure how to reply to that. Why can't you just be content to play the game the way it is minus the crashes and connection problems? Like Spetsnaz amd I already mentioned, it's over a year down the road and you want all these changes despite the risks involved? You ahve no idea what you are asking. Please read the posts made by SPetsnaz for some clarification.

Sure we love the game the way it is, this is the reason we are so involved in fixing it.
I say this and that, I hope some of it gets through. It's for the good of the game, for me and you.
But if changing even small things (like making damage taken by tanks from bad roads equal zero in the code, instead of what it is now) can go horribly wrong, then I'll be content with no CTDs and no more server crashes.
