I was wondering if anyone else that cars and tanks shouldnt explode when touching water, I mean it doesnt really serve and purpose other than limiting your ability to cliff dive into water, or slip when driving as fast as you can over bridges. So do you think they should keep it the way it is or at least make it so it takes 15 seconds or so before exploding? I mean sometimes its perfectly possible to recover when slipping, but since it just explodes it becomes impossible and just becomes frustrating.

Re: Should Cars+water=Explosion
It doesn't explode immediately upon contact with the water, it sinks a bit and then it starts to rapidly lose health. Unless it was already smoking when you drove it in you should still have plenty of time to exit before it blows up and kills you.

Re: Should Cars+water=Explosion
Well for one thing, cars don't actually explode when they touch water. The only thing that happens is the engine stops working since it's been drowned by water. Personally I think the cars shouldn't explode because I get pissed when (on Wake) I dodge a tank on a bridge, only to find myself in 6 feet of water and dying because my damn car explodes. It's annoying.Comment

Agree with you there, you drive off a bridge and you have NO chance of getting away, maybe have the vehicel explode in water but only after 30 second's, if it's deep water, have it sink then explode.Originally posted by Luftwaffe989Well for one thing, cars don't actually explode when they touch water. Re: Should Cars+water=Explosion
I agree, it's really annoying. However, I wonder if they've done that to avoid littering the map with submerged vehicles? I'm just thinking out loud here, but I wonder if leaving vehicles sticking out of the water for 30 seconds or so would actually cause problems with performance or graphics or whatever?
Maybe that's why they have them explode so quickly (and to get them back into use).
Just my 2p worth.Comment

Re: Should Cars+water=Explosion
What they could do is not have the car explode just make it sink to the bottom of the river/ocean.
Tanks should still blow up because if you drive a tank into the water then you are f*cking retarted.Comment

Re: Should Cars+water=Explosion
It is one thing in the game that has pissed me off in the past, mainly because its totally unrealistic and people die unecessarily from it, but one has to ask, what alternative is there? Like epoch hinted there cant just be loads of cars lying around in the ocean for graphical reasons, they do need to be got rid of, but how without exploding? Personally i would say let them explode, but only after a much longer time, say 1 min or 45secs or something, giving the maniac driver enough time to exit it without getting done by the explosion.Comment

Whatever you do don't drive the Vodnik off the Sharqi radio station LOL, The commander on MEC tried to drop a Vodnik onto the roof of the radio station, I hopped in it and another 3 jumped in and drove it off the side and it flew like a brick and exploaded on ground impact

Re: Should Cars+water=Explosion
The purpose it serves is to allow the vehicle to respawn at it's original location for the next user. If this weren't the case people would steal say a tank and go park it somewhere your team couldn't get to it. This would ultimately translate into severe complaining and I doubt anyone would be up for that anymore. A delay is fine, but then again it's been the same way for over a year. Why change it now?Originally posted by TurnipI was wondering if anyone else that cars and tanks shouldnt explode when touching water, I mean it doesnt really serve and purpose other than limiting your ability to cliff dive into water, or slip when driving as fast as you can over bridges. Re: Should Cars+water=Explosion
Give them a 30 second delay before exploding, hell they dont even get used much as it is. And it would compensate for the extra vehicle drop, its basically an improvement at the cost of nothing.Comment

Re: Should Cars+water=Explosion
Obviously you have not seen the the other "improvement at the cost of nothing" changes made and the tragic results. That's all we need, someone adds a delay on it then you will end up with some other all new bugs. No thanks! I don't see it's an improvement at all. I mean, you said so yourself if they dont get used much, what difference would it really make?Originally posted by TurnipGive them a 30 second delay before exploding, hell they dont even get used much as it is. I miss Joint Ops where you could get in a vehicle and drive it off a mountain to the the bottom and have enough time to bail and continue your trek.Comment
