    Sound issues

I'm having some sound issues which started about 2 weeks ago or so. After I joined a server (10-15 secs after I load in) I hear a beep, my sound gets distorted for a while and after that disapperas. I can hear a loud screatch fromtime to time but no game sounds. I had that happen to me long time ago but I can't remember how I got rid of it. maybe it just went away by itself. I'm running Audigy2 and sound is set to software mode.

When I change it to hardware my sounds are also screwed up. I cant hear my gun firing but I can hear spent shells hitting the ground. Arty can be falling down 20m in front of my but I can't hear it either. I have to turn so it's either to my left or right and then I can hear it. Basically I can't hear anything in front of me only on both sides. Ther are some other minor distortions too but this is the main one.

I'm not having any sound issues in any other game or software. I have the latest Creative drivers. Any ideas?

I'm gonna try out that new pb.dll file that some suggested in other threads. Hope it works.

Have a look here and see if that gives you a better idea as to what we are all dealing with.
Is your power supply sufficient to handle a SC? Do you have a headset so you can test the speakers vs the sound card itself?

Make sure you are using a decent driver for that card. I have the same card and I had some issues with the drivers. The only stable drivers I have found for that card so far is 5.12.1.324. Try moving the soundcard to a different pci slot, that might take care of it too.

This is for both [FM]Master_Chief and Revoluti0n, if you haven't tried them download and install the latest drivers,

        http://us.creative.com/support/downl...pe=0&x=21&y=16

the SBAX_WEBUP_LB_2_08_0004.exe. Next download the latest version of OpenAL,

and install. Next is to do the OpenAl fix for BF2. Go to C:\Windows\System32 and locate the openal32.dll and make a copy of it, then rename the copy to BF2OpenAL.dll, then paste it into your BF2 folder (making a backup of the original BF2OpenAL.dll first).

This part is for [FM]Master_Chief. If you are using headphones, make sure you have it set to headphones in the speaker options; if speakers, set to whatever speaker config you have. Next is in either the EAX Console or the Creative Control Panel, turn on CMSS 3D and see how it sounds. One more thing, the Audigy 2 is more tham capable of running BF2 in hardware mode and at high.
