Battlefield 2: Veterans Program by EA

I just recieved an email from EA (most of you should have as well):

    Battlefield 2: Veterans Program
DICE is pleased to announce that we will be rewarding our loyal BF2 community by giving them exclusive benefits for enlisting with Battlefield 2142 when it comes out this October.

Full details will be available in the coming weeks about this program, so stay tuned to battlefield.ea.com for more information.
    Thoughts?

It would be pretty cool if they gave out Beta testing privileges to top scorers in the game. They'd have to check for stat padding first, but that's the easy part. Only problem with is some people may not be so nice and hand out the Beta publicly.

I wonder what they have in store ...

maybe not the top scorers but those that have put in the most hours?

i reckon it should be the majority of us, perhaps when we enlisted?

how do u know its about testing it?, what if its some other sort of something, like transferring accounts/global score/unlocks (at least unlokcs) from bf2 to 2142

Maybe its an attempt at trying to replensh their damaged reputation within the BF2 community.

              Two things.

There are lots of people who don't play BF2 for stats .

Are EA that desperate that they need to give people incentives to buy there upcoming game?

I have more questions. I just updated my video driver (GeForce FX Go5200 with 64Ram) I know that it doesn't meet the minimum hardware requirement and everything is so sluggish, can't play the game. But before I updated driver I was able to play the game. Then I updated the patch from 1.22 to 1.3 and it still doesn't work.

                Any suggestions?

                Thanks in advance

personally, i need an incentive to switch from bf2, 1st of all it took a while to get unlocks and why should that time go to waste ,and 2nd of all i need a good faith something from EA, as they have screwed up bf2 so much that i just want to see them making it up to us

They shouldnt have made it veterens from BF2, but us veterens from BF 1942. EA's first Battlefield series game, instead of its third.

it might just be like some unlocks or something if your using the same account from bf2.

it doesnt really mention "veterans" in your message, it just says loyal bf2 community. so that can just mean those who are loyal bf2 players and play both bf2 and 2142 might get some unlocks in their bf2 game to keep them playing it.

much like how if you play 1 round of SF with your bf2 account, you got unlocks. so maybe if you play a round of 2142 you get some unlocks in bf2 if you use the same account

how can they tell if we are vets from 1942 as nothing was recorded from back then to prove we are indeed veterans of that aswell as bf2.
