BF1942 problem that is

So I installed the game but when I downloaded the patch from filefront.com the V1.0 to V1.6 it says this:
''The contents of this file cannot be unpacked. The executable you are attempting to run has been corrupted. Please obtain another copy of the file, verify its integrity, and try again.''
And when I downloaded from EA's server it says the same error upon trying to install. What is wrong?
(I know this is the wrong section but I posted in the support and my thread dissapeared within minutes with no reply.)
