Pissing me off

I have this problem which only started recently. Half the time i will load up a map and it will say "Optimizing shaders" when i have not changed anything. It does this because the game mysteriously changes all my settings to high (they are on low/medium) and loads the map with high settings. I can't play on high settings and i have no freakin idea why teh game does this.

So when i go back to change the settings to normal, they are just they way i have them! So WTF is going on, the game loading a map with high settings when i don't have them?

I cleared my DMP, cache and logocache folders. Let's see if it helps.

dont join that server maybe?I think that happened to me....but it doesn't happen n e more for some reason...mine are on low..

I get the Optimizing Shaders message too once in a long while, usually when playing SF. It doesn't change my settings aside from setting my screen resolution to 800x600.
