I miss Planetside

Anybody here ever play it?

When they brought out the BFR's (Big Fun Ruiners) I lost all faith in SOE to keep my interest.

The concept of a true MMOFPS always has scratched that RPG itch in me without giving up the ability to wreck newbs FPS style.

I was the leader of a massive Outfit on the Emerald servers and the massive battles we had in our weekly raids were leaps and bounds beyond anything in any other FPS I ever played...

Three armies to chose from, fighting for different types of bases which link to others and provide benefits that aid in defense... The three armies have different design philosophies for their weapons and different vehicles that are specific to their "country"...

Great game ruined, in my opinion, by bad design choices.

I hear they have a free program to try to get old subscribers back... maybe I'll re-install.



Anyway.....

I miss it.

I used to play it also quit when they came out got bored and went back and they nerf ed them but its jsut not the same as good ol day sorry its really bad they didnt mess it up as much as swg though lol at soe

Played Beta, ran an outfit that was always in the top 10 with the least ammount of people. They messed it up the last week so I didn't go retail. This March and Apr I played it anf BFR's were fixed from what I heard they used to be like but the numbers arn't what they used to be . . .

I play the free version (can only get to level 6). I see some BFR's but they're generally easy to avoid. I am also Vanu on Emerald.

that game can mess up your computer. i mean. i have a 7800 gtx 512. and i was playing it. then it crash. so i started it up again. and it said that all of my memory was gone from the video card. but i restarted my computer and it work again.

Yeah i used to play Planetside as the Vanu on Werner, my character was PhaseOne. I played with Purple Valor, Betas Blockers and Founded eVolution (which died after a few weeks).

I played it from the start, through all the nerfs but they finally went too far with the BFRs. I mean who in their rights mind thought that they would be fun, they make all tanks (except the Vanguard) useless, same with Reavers and Mossies, and infantry in the field is pointless.
