BF2 problems with LCD monitor

Hello my new Acer 19" LCD monitor came today so i took out my old CRT and connect this new one in, well now the prob im starting to see is that when i try to open BF2 my screen gets dark and then it dumps me back to the desktop, so what prob is my new is LCD cause.

Have you installed the drivers which came with it?

Although I think the most likely cause of your problem is that BF2 is running at a resolution your monitor doesn't support.

Delete your BF2 settings by deleting the contents of My Documents\Battlefield 2

Very common problem.

PS - back up your controls.con file if you have custom controls and be sure to remember your username and password because you'll have to 'retrieve your account'.

i bet its the refresh rate, you probably had a higher refresh rate on the crt and the default for lcd is 60mhz. it happened to me.

thanks alot it fixed the prob. , yeah it was the refresh rate, one thing tough i noticed that stuff looks much sharper than old CRT, why is that?

whats the response time of the new LCD? try play around with the settings a bit. are you using DVI of the VGA input?

im using DVI, and i runn all my games at high and x4 AA

oh man now that i use LCD for the first time i think my PC doesnt need upgrades anymore for a lil while, man man everything looks slicker and better

the LCD is new, the CRT is older, a new CRT would look btter than the old CRT
