good for u! i cnt tell u how many times ive been killed by ground pounders while my stupid pilot is trying to take a flag in a cobra. when u get taken out by AT mines in a cobra ur doing something wrong.
Capturing and Defending flags is my #1 goal in the game, even if my stats get screwed. But I know a lost cause when I see one, so if there is a flag that is literally swarming with enemies, I will back off to another spawn point and try a counter-attack.

In fact when it becomes ridiculous like on Karkand and everyone is fighting around the square/hotel I'll just sneak off and start capping the Factory/Warehouse. Sure its great to have a good KPM score but I prefer to squad up with my clan mates and just cap flags. Best of all is when you have some flags that are a long way from the battle the enemy usually use Transport/armour to get to my flag of which we have booby trapped heavily with mines/C4.
Personally I like it when everyone is out for kills as I can easily get 4 points per flag & get a few more points defending it.
I always capture and defend flags. I usually work alone too, but if I have just one competent teammate then I own. The only time I don't capture a flag is if I'm flying (of course, but I rarely do that anyways) or if I'm in armor and I don't have UAV support. Then I'll sit back and mow people down while others try to capture.

I had the most fun last night when I was a medic. I had just spawned at a flag and started moving away with the rest of my team mates, and then heard some nades exploding near our flag, but none of my team showed up on minimap there. I moved back to flag and by some miracle took down a squad of guys with my l85 and got the flag back. Great fun!
I cap flags when I'm not a commander or pilot. I've been so angry as a commander some times though that I've gone out and taken a flag myself to stop the bleed.
