Logging into BF2 server.... why do you think that it...

    Takes so long???

I mean, all they need to do is verify your password, cdkey, with the record on server. It takes me 2 seconds to log into gmail. Or myspace (i dont use myspace, but its example)...

why does it take soooooo long to click on the "log in" after you hear the sexy chick say "welcome to duty"....

I mean, i am always excited to play, and then it takes a while.... and i got fast connection too (always below 100 ping).

    Bumpage.

    Try adding this....

    "C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\BF2.exe" +playerName putyourusernamehere +playerPassword putyourpasswordhere +menu 1 +fullscreen 1

To the target field when you right click on your BF2 desktop icon and select properties. It does still take a littel bit, but it lessens what you have to do to log in, and it does seem a little faster.

Oh yea, make sure to capitalize the N in playerName, and the P in playerPassword.

Clear out your favorites... I suppose you have alot of them!?

Edit: @ Auto-ER-: Also add +restart to that line, if you havent deleted the video's already...

You have to make some corrections in that line... This is what i have:
            "C:\Programfiler\EA Games\Battlefield 2\BF2.exe" +menu 1 +fullscreen 1 +restart 1 +playerName <<NBF>>MrNiceGuy +playerPassword **********

            Just ignore the path!

              ----------Update------------

So I added the above command line. I really like the +restart part. MAN, do I hate those videos in the beggining. I always hated hearing "EA Games----challenge everything...."

So anyways, the command line alone did not solve the problem.

So I deleted a lot of my favorites. (and all of the ones that weren't responding anymore),

and I cleared out ALL of my battlefield2 cache files, and then restarted the game back up. It took about 10 seconds for the loading screen to finish.

Very good. I am very satisfied. Big thanks to Mr Nice Guy and Auto ER

You can set your favourites file to read only also so it won't be able to add servers saving you having to clear it out all the time.

                  Here you go !

When you first install BF2 it shouldn't take more than 2 seconds and then the more servers you play on and hense get added to your favourites adds an extra 2 seconds per server onto your login time.

If you have a server listed in RED then it means it's running a different version (or has a map that you don't) and then you're talking about adding an extra 5 seconds to the login time for every server that's red :)

The only thing that makes logging in long is dead servers in your favourites. It pings them everytime you're logging in.
