I have a question with 2 of the ranks. In around 6,000 more points I will be at Master Sergeant.That requires 20,000 points. Now the one after that takes 20,000 points, and some badges.(First Sergeant) I have all the badges but the Knife badge. If I get the Knife badge and get to 20,000 points, will I go up 2 ranks?
though this has been explained a million times (IE the search button)....basically master sgt is a rank you get for getting 20,000 points. First sgt is a rank you get if you have 20,000 points and most of the basic badges. Once you reach 20,000 points, if you still do not have those basic badges, you cannot ever achieve the rank of first sgt. The same applies with the next ranks, master gunnery sgt and sgt major. If you don't have the required badges by then, you recieve the lower of the two ranks
