I ran pbsetup, but this dll wasn't updated.

Had to download it manually.

wow, i'll be running pbsetup then... Just started getting this problem a few days ago as well, kind of a distorted beep as I join the game.

Audigy4, latest drivers, blah blah... The search button works again :)

I have the same issue with my "Audigy 2 ZS" (just like in your clip), but i never had any problem with sound in BF2, maybe its something with PB...
My friend has Audigy 1 and he has only beep sound problem in start of any game.

Fixed my problems downloading and replacing a Punkbuster .dll file for a new one.

After I join a server, 10-15 seconds later I get a quick freeze and a lould crackling, beep/sound on my speakers

After this sometimes a few sounds go away, like my sounds when I fire my weapon, they are gone. Sometimes it goes ok, nothing happens, other times I keep hearing strange crackling/mixed up sounds during the game, only go away if I restart the game or restart the computer.

Tried everything, this started happening from last week until now, I haven't found any solution yet.

I have an Audigy 2 ZS. And this game is really weird.
For months never had a problem with sound...
Then suddenly I started having strange issue that during normal gameplay the game simply freezes for like 40 seconds, with a looping sound, then it comes back to normal. Most of times it disconnected me from the server because of the long pause.

And now this new issue, with the sound, this damm crackling and beep with a small freeze. But happens 80% of times I start playing.

I recorded this video with FRAPS, this is what happens:

Me too, like a crackling mini whoop of a beep.... (Know it sounds stupid but thats the only way I can describe it), and the volume and bass fluctuates sometimes.

Creative 5:1 and Audigy 2ZS card latest drivers, fricking weird but never seem to CTD after it either so I'll stick with the beep for now.

Well, sometimes a beep is just a beep, othertimes it's a bad, bad thing. I can live with it I guess....

I keep getting weird beeps when i join games and my gun sound goes and then i cant hear anything on ts for like 5 6 min then all the noises i missed start playing back all mixed up i cant really explain it and then it stops and does it again for like 5 min then i get all my sound back started happening like a week ago i uninstalled my sound drivers 3 times i have unistalled bf2 sf and everything else but it still keeps happening only with bf2 if anyone knows anything about this please let me know the sound is really pissing me off

you mean like the windows Exclamation beep? Go into your controlpanel\sounds settings and play the default windows sounds until you duplicate it. Then at least you'll know the category it belongs to.

Sounds like BF (or Windows) is trying to open a pop up Dialog box but failing.. hence the sound.

I heard something too, it was like a half second of static/beep. Happens when I I am starting to load into a map and I have to alt+TAB out for a second.

I'm experiencing the beep too but after it most of the time (probably 4 out of 5 times) I loose all my game sounds. It just started happening 2 weeks ago or so. I had that happen to me few months back and I can't remember how I fixed it. Maybe it just went away by itself.
