X1300 agp card

can anyone tell me if the Radeon X1300 512Mb AGP card is any good for BF2 specs are as shown below

It seems not many people know, although I can tell you:

4 pixel piplines = very bad
128bit memory interface = not good
512mb of memory = good

Not very helpful I know, but at least its a bump

Edit: According to this review its performance is akin to a 6600 (i doubt the 512mb memory would make too much difference)

go with a 1600 iplay mostly medium with some high and u still get 512 memory

Get a card like an X1600, but with less memory. That X1300 would perform no differently with 512MB of RAM than it would with 256MB, 128MB, or maybe even 64MB, the chipset on it just cant do enough to warrant that much RAM.

Its a common ploy by graphics card manufacturers, they stick a lot of slow ram on a crap graphics card to suck people in. Its the actual GPU (chipset) of the card that matters.

Or, to use an example, it'd be like comparing a 3GHz P4 CPU with 1GB of Ram to a Celeron 1.1GHz CPU with 4GB of Ram, the celeron just simply isnt fast enough to utilise that much memory.

its a medium end card...i have one myself...it will run bf2 perfect...i ran it everything on high with no probs...just make sure you have at least 2gb of ram to go with it..lolz

Agreed, it reminds me of the nvidia 7300. Instead of a x1600, you could get an nvidia 7600 which is better, but still a mid-range card.

Read the article, it is a low end card. Unless you play on 320 x 200 or something I'm sorry but I don't believe you about playing on all high with decent fps (30+)

Nah sorry, its junk. I'd only recommend that card for an extremely budget system where the user wanted slightly-better-than-integrated-graphics performance. Spend the money you'd spend on another 1GB of RAM on your graphics card instead. No other games need that much RAM to run so you'd only be buying it for BF2, and even then the difference between 1GB and 2GB is pretty minimal unless you had a kickass card with the highest settings. Getting a better graphics card will make ALL your games look better.
