People abusing the vehicles by running people over and jihad jeeping wouldn’t have been much fun anyways, yes it sort of limits some classes like the engineer and land mines but that shotgun more than makes up for it (both the AT kit and Engineer).

I guess we’ll find out soon enough, hopefully.

So why is it that all of you are eager for BF2 beta 2 test?

How many reports have you all filed on behalf of the beta 1? Or are you just eager to play another version so that you have something new to complain about?

I for one noticed good changes with the beta1 and at least Im not getting lockups or freezing causing me to reset the PC or kill process ~e5.0001 each and everytime to try to stop the freeze.

Also I have filed reports that explain in detail what issues if any I have noticed and when I am on a test server Im typically testing looking for strange bugs or issues that pertain to the fixes on hand, not bugs that are already well known for versions pre beta test.

Most test servers I've played on so far have been just like normal servers play wise with evey man for himslef and point whoring it up when possible.. not much testing at all.. The one main thing different I have seen, is that almost EVERY server I join there is massive camping from one team to the others main non cappable base.

Why is this occuring so much mainly in 1.4 as compared to 1.3 servers? Just a reflection.. before everyone gets thier dander up and states how its always been happening.. But seriously I have noted it way more in 1.4 than before.... strange.

The sooner a new official version of BF2 is released the better, there’s a ton of people waiting on the progress of 1.4 who are still playing 1.3 even with the issues, even if this isn’t the final beta at least it’s a sign that things are hopefully moving along and at a steady pace.

True it would be nice to see some more organization and cooperation to test things but it’s sort of expected that most people would just want to play the new map and see what’s been changed for the good or bad, I would guess that for the most part it was the hard core BF2 fan who gave the beta a try, it’s pretty easy to team stack on most of the servers too as there’s no autobalance going on that I’ve seen.

I’m interested in seeing how much the feedback process went into the patch, things like the prone to crouch -> standing change that they said has been reworked, if they fixed the prone spamming, etc.

The patch was for the game, not for people! What did you expect? Team play?
People are playing as always, not worst, nor better, no matter what patch is on.
I was expecting another beta, because many players have tested the current one and have reported their problems with it.
So it was enough time for developers to deal with the bugs (and hopefully not introduce more) and give us back something to test.

People are playing as always, not worst, nor better, no matter what patch is on.
I was expecting another beta, because many players have tested the current one and have reported their problems with it.
So it was enough time for developers to deal with the bugs (and hopefully not introduce more) and give us back something to test.

I expect possibly a Beta 3 and an RC (release candidate). That is the normal steps for software production. End of July for a complete 1.4 may be pushing it.

My guess is beta 2 is veryyyy sooon.
Since a lot of servers are running it.

I wonder how many betas they will release

I never believed them when they said the patch would be out in July. I'm guessing mid August or September.
