    Ignorant team

Im really getting ****ing sick and tired of this. I was Commanding on Warlord and as usual I never expect my team to actually listen to me, I expect maybe one or 2.

So it was like 11 on each side or something, and im Commanding, spotting doing everything, and im typing to my team telling them what to do, what will effect the game to their benefit.

So theres this one guy on the other team constantly taking the Tank from the Palace security (im on SAS by the way) and he keeps raping my team over and over. But they whine saying ''Tank whore, **** you'' and cursing about it. So we get all the flags up to the Palace Security. So this Tank whore was killed, so now im thinking ok now is our chance to push them back, so I scan the palace security and I say to my team.

''Cap the palace security and your ''tank whore'' will be no more''

So they don't, they just ignore me and head all out in solo to different parts for who knows what reason, im constantly telling them. 5 minutes later that tank whore guy spawns, and takes the tank so I say ''Nice guys, your really good at screwing up aren't you? I told you to take that cap but no''

So then someone tries mutiny against me, but then they all start complaining saying im a good Commander. Why I ask, why is it that I rarely get a good team to Command? Why can't they just ****ing follow orders, its for their damn benefit, to stop them getting raped by the Tank whore. I mean what the hell is going on in their heads???? If they capped that flag they would have pushed the enemy back but NO! they didn't and the tank whore capped 4 flags all the way down, pushing us back and we lost. /rant off.

    Re: Ignorant team

I understand what you're saying and it can be annoying when no one listens to you, really annoying!!

However on the flip side i was on sharqi near the construction site over looking the hill towards the TV station as SL sniper. I was covering the hill along with another sniper on my team, shooting guys running towards the construction site (the TV station was there last flag). The commander said over VOIP team 1 and 2 and 3 (We were team 2) advance on the TV station, i typed back were covering the hill and will cover the other 2 teams, i then asked for a supply crate as we were low on ammo and there were teams running under the building we were on which it would have helped aswell. He declined and said your not getting a supply crate until you advance the TV station!!!!!! Who is this guy my Mum??!!!!! ("you're not getting an ice cream until you finish all your dinner!!!!!" ) so again i explain the situation and he says "im the commander do what i say!!" I actually started laughing it was such a surreal situation!! :)

Anyway, getting back to the original thread, i hear what you're saying, think it comes down to team work again.

Dont command people, dont tell them what to do. It does you no good. Strategy? People in BF2 are too selfish and stupid to follow odrers of a guy who has a good eye on whats happening on the field.

What you should do is sharpen up those typing skills, because thats what you should do the most. Type all intel. Treat your team as one big disfunctional squad. What I need from my commander is INTEL, SUPPLIES, UAV and occasional ARTILLERY support. Usually Im in a squad where we already have our own vision of objectives. Were the flag capturers, flag hopper squad.

If youre lucky and have a squad you can work with, work with them for these little "sidemission" things, like capping flags that arent in the imminent warzone. For those extra spawnpoints. Guide them for flanks and whatnot. IF they want to cooperate, that is.

It's a pub, you'll never find teamwork in a pub. It's just not possible.

you'd be amazed what can happen as commander when you make the effort to use VoIP and actually talk to the squadleaders - people will respond

on ther other hand, you should be thankful that anyone joined squads at all lol

I was, I supplied all my Teams Tanks and APC's, even if they didn't need it. One req that I use when Commanding is predicting. On the most chance your going to be right. I was with the Palace security. I do whats in my teams best intrest. They whined about the Tank whore, I gave them a solution, the solution was to cap the flag, even though when he died he would spawn back at that part. If they capped that flag then he wouldn't have a been a problem. Giving the benefit of my team advancing, and less whining.

Squad lmao, heres a laugh for you, I told them to squad up, one squad had 2 people in it. The other 2 squads had one person in it, and the rest were Lone wolf. And then I had this high ranker who kept taking the APC (he was on my team) and raping the SAS the round before, and he kept requesting supplies for when he was attacked by an AT. So next round starts our team sucks, he teamswitches to their team. Then he kept teamswitching to the team he thought was doing better, or where he could get the Armor.

I agree. I think of the commander more like an intel officer than I do a leader. I know the strategic parts of each map, and I'll try and cap/defend flags the commander wants me to, but don't expect me to go out of my way to capture a flag that has minimal tactical value or retreat from a well-defended position that is consistently under attack.

I know exactly how you feel. Seemingly whenever I command my team is too ****ing ignorant to cap a flag. Expample: Karkand, there are hotel glitchers, I tell my team to ignore hotel and go cap the back flags and what do they do? "RUSH HOTEL ALLAH!1!1!1!1 CHARGE!1!1!! OMFG HAXXOR DIE!1!!1!1!" *respawn* "DO IT ALL OVER AGAIN1!1!!!1!1" On warlord it happens too. I tell them to defend the flags and what do they do? "ATTACK PALACE LETS SET OFF ALL THOSE CLAYMORES!1!1!1 OMFG CLAYWHORE NADE SPAM KICK!1!1" By this time were behind like 100 tickets and I just tell them "**** you noobs why cant i ever get a good team together" and resign and DC. Thats what happens on pub servers ALWAYS sadly 90% of the people in this game dont know what teamwork means.

And that is exactly why youre going to have to just give as much intel to your people and hope their judgement is good enough.

                    Re: Ignorant team

I feel your pain. I've found that a team who listens to the commander is hard to find. There have been a few games where a squad or two will listen to me. On Warlord it was a thrill to push the enemy out of the Palace and back to the Hideout. The combination of the tank and APC was lethal against incoming infantry. I dropped arty on snipers and spotted outlying vehicles that tried to sneak in. That was a blast! It was also a rare game where a squad actually complimented the commander *gasp*.

Commanders/Squads: The best strategy for Warlord is to control the Security Office (grab the tank as soon as it appears) and the Mosque (defend by camping on the rooftop). Why is it so few people realize this? From there you can launch attacks to the Palace and destroy infantry advancing from the Hideout. The TV Station is a claymore/C4 spammer's dream and cannot be captured while in armor. Don't waste infantry on it. The Square(?) is the closest to the SAS and is the easiest target for them. Playing MEC focus on the Square only when you control all other CPs to the north.

That pretty much sums it all up now doesn't it? If you want to enjoy teamwork and people using every feature of the game as it should be used (including commander), then you MUST play on a server that is comprised of like minded people. The average player just wants to run around and shoot people and blow stuff up. They want the individual points for the next badge/medal/rank/unlock.

I have found WAY more teamwork in the mods. Why? No stats. People in the mods are playing for the fun of it and they are less concerned with their personal advancement and more in tune with the larger goal of having their side come out as the victor. It is nice to play a game like that. sadly, that just doesn't happen on a Ranked server.

                        Re: Ignorant team

I like to play as squad commander and do a decent job of it (staying back, let my guys fight and use me as a spawn point). My experience has been that commanders are ignored because they are ignorant of what the situation the squads are in. I might be trying to cap a flag with my squad when the commander selects a flag across the map to defend. Am I going to abandon my attack on a flag just to drive/walk across a map to defend a flag? No. If a commander gives me good intel, responds to my requests, and gives me realistic assignments, I'll follow his orders. If he acts like a tard and gives me knee jerk orders, I'll blow him off.
