Bizarre Crash..NEED HELP!!

well i got my new pc built and installed bf2 tonight. Here is what went down

Installed bf2, installed the patch and then installed the armored force add-on.

I log into the game and all seems well. I find a server to play on and let the map load. At about 58-60% when its loading Geometries it crashes to the desktop. I tried several maps and dumbing down all settings to med or low and it still does it.

I have the latest drivers and bios and all that stuff! What can it be?

I have the following setup

P4 3.2
2gb pc5300 ddr2 ram
ati 850xt pe
seagate 10k 73gb sata drive
onboard Realtek sound

any ideas?:cry:

It might be your video card driver.

You could try deleteing all of the files in your C:\Documents and Settings\User Name\My Documents\Battlefield 2\mods\bf2\cache to let BF2 re-optimise itself.

You could try re-patching/installing.

Have you tried out your new pc on any other games? It could be a memory problem.

well im gonna skip all that today and im reinstalling windows again and start fresh again. Once windoes is loaded and updated to SP2 ill then load BF2 fresh and see what happens from there. Ill also load Counter Strike Source to test other games as well. The memory theory might be true but we will see.
