nVidia 6600 256M AGP Video Card ??

I'm going to get into this Battlefield 2 things - it sounds pretty awsome.

Ok, I am looking at the nVidia 6600 256M AGP Video Card to support the game but before I go out and get I need to ask, will it do the job ?

The system is an AMD Athlon XP+ with 1 Gig DDR 400Mhz Ram.

My second PC has one of those and runs at 1024x768 medium settings, It runs the game fine, but if you have the budget get a 6600 GT or higher. Dont worry if a 6600 GT has less memory, Its still better for BF2 and not much more.

Yes it will work absoloutly fine on battlefield 2 i have the 6600 with 128mb and it runs fine. so with 6600 254mb is good.

Thanks for the help out.... but I have been doing some homework over the past 24 hours and seeing that I run AGP, it may be best if I go for the Radeon X800 XT card as it has a Memory Bandwith of 32GB/s where the 6600GT can only muster 16GB/s....... providing BF2 see's the x800.

The X800XT is better than the 6600; make sure it's got 256MB of RAM. If you have the money to get it then get it. I'm running on an X800 series card myself and can run with most settings on high.

Just a note, you'll have to play with textures on medium since you have 1GB of RAM.

Just buy a 7600 and be done, its one of the best agp cards there is and its pretty cheap too. With it and maybe a little more ram you would be able to play BF2 on highest settings.
