i was thinking about how the infantry only option in the 1.4 patch will play on the vanilla maps. i then realized that be cause the SF maps are so much smaller than vanillas maps and its easier for some vehicles to totally rape some maps in SF, that this option will really help and make SF more enoyable in my opinion.

Disagree - infantry only is the worst idea DICE ever came up with. This isn't Counterstrike and if you want it to be, go play it.

BF has always and always will be about combined arms. Beside, since when do vehicles own on any map? As far as I'm concerned, they're targets and easy kills.

I think raw infantry is what sets apart one player from another... the way he handles the gun, ammo, shots, nades, cover... (don't tell me thats counterstrike crap... cause you're adding in a whole new dimension with flag cap and buildings with hooks and zips).

An infantry only OPTION is a great idea i think, and the OP has a good point about special forces maps. Because of the size of the maps it will work really well.

But remember it is only an OPTION. If you think infantry only is too much like CS then its simple. Dont play on servers that run that option!!!!
There are quite a few in the community who are looking forward to infantry only.

I reckon it'll work really well on Warlord (my fav SF map), so lets finish beta testing and get the official patch out!!!

I can see it being very usefuil on some maps Warlord, Ghost town etc. But not so on other like Gator which had already been mentioned.

Inf only will add another 6+ months to the life of all bf2 if not more .. i would advise anybody who wants to increase there round scores K/d to get into an inf only server the skills you have to learn to servive will pay 10x when pounding the streets in open servers .. Ea wanted to take there ball away when our vets server ran inf only and some tank whore with the choice of another 100+servers complained even tho our 32 server was full so we stopped ..... WTF now there adding it to the game :evil: no skill what so ever in lame *** armour spawn rape FACT

Infantry Only??? Since when does war only have Infantry??? And if you play on an IO server, then your prob a n00b cuz you can't face up to a tank or hop in AA to stop the Chopper or Jet thats killing you.
