Ranked 1942 maps in BF2?

Hey,
If you uncheck all the options in the search filter for BF2 except Ranked and you do a search you'll find a couple of Ranked servers running maps with classic 1942 (and a DC) map names, like Berlin. I was wondering how you play on those, even in DC I enjoyed playing Berlin, great city map.

not sure cuz i havent seen these b4..but i think u need to dl the maps first and then try joining

Um, ranked? I don't think so...

But running some maps from a different game wouldn't be any different than running custom maps. You probably have to download them, or read some tutorial about converting (if you need to) or moving them to your BF2 folder.

they were just custom maps made by fans based of the classic 1942 maps, its impossible for them to be ranked.

and you cant port anything from any of the BF games over to BF2, so would have had to have been made from scratch

Different game engines, can't be directly ported. I just did a quick search in 1.3, not showing up anymore (another dream 1.3 destroyed, just like AF/EF LAN games :p), scratch that.

TotalBF2 Mappack 1 cames with Berlin for BF2

MapPack 3 has Bocage 2007 (or something like that).. but there is nothing like the old ones... much better maps for a much better game.
