The Play Now Button

Anyone else hate this ****ing button?

Sometimes when disconnecting from a game, I will hit the disconnect button 3 or 4 times. When the disconnect ends, the other clicks will register and start a ****ing play now server search.

Now we all know that this button is a ****ing piece of ****ing ****. So everytime it goes, I have no way to cancel it! So I have to restart the computer!!!

Ctlr Alt Delete has become my best friend since I started to play BF2... isn't that sad?

Sad part is that Ctrl Alt Del doesnt even work when a Play Now server search happens. Probably my 1 gig of ram.

But there should be a ****ing cancel button. The fact that they dont have one is ridiculous. There should be one for login, Play Now, etc.

Yeah I hit that ****ing button the other day... same thing. I hit disconnect... nothing happened. I waited 10 seconds... then hit it again.. and again.

It finally disconnects and then the "play now" **** comes up... I waited like 5 minutes, I tried ctrl+alt+delete a billion times... alt+tab.. everything you could have thought of.

I had to restart to get it to stop..

I recommend using a hammer and chisel to gouge out the offending button. Problem solved.

I never understood that about the BF2 interface. Any time a complex operation is performed, the game locks all of your possible ways of getting out. There are times when you click on a server in the list and there's a -long- pause where you can't do anything (it's probably trying to connect to host).

I agree, the Play Now button is annoying.

Yeh, even the first time i ever loaded up BF2 sometime late last year (sighs nostalgically) i avoided that play now button without even knowing what it was because i knew it was a piece of **** designed solely for fastfood ****wits and arsecandles who dont have the 5 second attention span required to find a ****ing server themselves. **** that button, **** the little arrows that come after it, and **** the world!

It annoys the hell out of me when Im disconnecting because 1/10 times I click it and end up loading the resources for some POS server and that takes more of my time. EA I want those 5 seconds of my life back......

I have a freind with 4 kids I've been trying to "Get up to speed" in BF2.

He's only got a few hours certain nights of the week to workout patches, Qtracker, maps, strategy, along with all the drawbacks of the BF2 programing.

The other night on the phone he said:

"What's the join now but..."

He didn't even get the enitre word button out before I jumped in and said:

"Don't touch it !!!Don't ever touch that button under any circumstances, forget it even exists"

It was like scene from some sci-fi movie where there's a red launch button for a doomsday weapon.
