Whenever I load a map, I press "Join Game", and it doesn't crash to the desktop. Can anyone help me? I've got a Pentium D, nVidia Geforce 6800, and 1.5 gigs of RAM.

So let me see if I understand this, when you load a map and press "Join Game" it DOES NOT crash? I don't see that as a problem at all.

It was because you installed the memory. This must have cleared out the cached part of the page file on the HDD (which contains the offending copy protect file) and reset it.

I was going to say you must have edited your registry to force clear the page file on shutdown.

I think the only way to get it to crash again is to reinstall up to patch 1.22, then play a round then patch to 1.3 and you should get your crash back.

I've had this problem as well today. I shut down the game and restarted it though because I thought it was playing trick on me.

I read this, and re-read this about 6 times before i finally said to myself....... "self i said, whats the problem" glad it was a joke.
