Use the 84.56 Drivers. 91.xx drivers are for 7950 gx2 or sli and make single cards temp go up and fps go down.

I have a 7800 gs and installed the 84.xx series and everything is good.

Couldn't agree more. I had so many problems with the 91.xx drivers

Bah... don't get me started on EA and they're ****-thrown together games...

There's a reason why BF2 causes so many odd problems... they simply don't code and test their patch versions enough.

Good luck trying to find a solution D: Seems Doom 3 runs 5 times smoother than BF2 on my computer... at least iD can compile a decent game.

Because EA can't code for ****e. 1.0 was fine, when the SF patch came out most peoples FPS's dropped. 1.4 better fix it!

The thing is every other game loves the card on his system apart from bf2. I can see him needing to upgrade a few things but only for the one game? If it was his system i thought it would be the same for every game? why just bf2?

I have 1 gig of memory and it runs pretty smooth on mine.

I'd say OC the CPU and add another 1 GB of ram.. than it should work

if not than something is pretty weird

A high end card like that and only 1gb system memory??

2gb is a must!
Could have speant some $$ on memory and then even a lower card and frames would be much higher and stable.

well teh fact you are at 3.6ghz and he is only at 3ghz would be a big difference. A fast video card has to have a fast processor in order to get the kind of performance it should. He need to throw that ECS motherboard in the trash and get a good OCing brand like Asus or Abit, a good cooler and get his processor OCed up close to where yours is.

hi. i recently bought a Gainward 7800gs+ "golden sample" 512mb graphics card for my boyfriend. All other games (Ghost recon: advanced warfighter, fear, cod2 etc) ran on ultra high or high settings with great fps but as soon as he tried to play BF2 his frames droped to 30fps or less. Nothing fixed this. We updated the graphics drivers and used driver cleaner pro 1.5 to clean out the others, update his motherboard drivers etc. My 6800gt (oc) ran at 70-100 fps on the same settings!

Anyways. So we swaped over the card to my computer and i can run it with almost everything on high with 70fps! He has all the requirements for the card to run. specs below.

My computer:
cpu: p4 3.2ghz (oc to 3.6)
Motherboard: Asus p4c800-e Deluxe
Power supply: Antec 480 watt true blue
Memory: Corsair 1gb TwinX4000 (running at pc3700 cause of mobo)
Video Drivers: 91.31

His Computer:
cpu: p4 3.0ghz
Motherboard: ECS EliteGroup 648FX-A
Power supply: Antec 480 watt true power
Memory: 1gb 3200 (not sure on the brand)
Video Drivers: 91.31

As Far as i can see there is no major difference which could cause this kind of frame drop, particularily only with the one game. Any help with this matter would be much appriciated.
