Yea the only time I used it against infantry was accidental, I still got the kill, I was at and a sniper saw me so he rushed for the vodniks mounted gun and I got my at rocket and shot he must of saw it coming so he hopped out and for some reason I went behind a fence for cover and I think doing that turned it towards him and hit him

The n00b is the guy that manages to get hit by that rocket.
If I have the tube on my shoulder, and want to engage armor, then suddenly some red guy hops around the corner with his thrusty F2000; guess what I'm going to do... Switch to my P90?

When you get killed by a rocket, instead of crying why don't you switch to the AT, and get rid of your medikit just for once (generalization) and come fight tanks?

I can't believe people complaining about a rocket going 50mph when they have an assault rifle to defend themselves. Also, if you get hit by a rocket means you were not behind cover.

So, my point is that the rocket is so slow, if you get hit by one of them you were obviously sleeping, dreaming, and in a spot somewhere out in the open.
I know getting shot by an AT point blank sucks, but he has no choice if you come around the corner with a better rifle. As an AT you just don't have the TIME to change to another weapon unless you want to die.

Grenades are the new n00b b4llz or whatever you guys call things, Medics have those and whore them to ****. The splash damage on those is crazy and the distance they can be thrown is even more crazy.

They have the n00b unlocks (scoped assault rifle w/one hit kill to the head and the best/n00best weapon in the game G36E)

There's no way the AT rocket is a noob tube. I play a lot as AT and while it's easy to hit people who are relatively stationary it's damn hard to hit people who are moving.

Anyway, if you manage to hit someone with it they're either not clued up enough to be keeping an eye out or too slow to realise what's going on. It takes ages to reload and you only get 5 shots - nothing remotely noob-tubey about that.

It requires you to stand mostly still to guide it, it's easy to dodge, has an tiny blast radius, it reloads slowly, and you only get 5 shots.

Not really a noobtube at all.

Not always, there were some occasions where I would find myself only injured after being hit by an AT rocket, and medics were able to revive me. I believe it matters whether it hits you in the legs or upper torso/face.

I don't know why people are saying its hard to hit people with AT rockets. If it was so hard I would not see virtually every AT guy using that as their primary weapon instead of the smg or pistol. And no im not lying, since I got the game when it came out I would say I fought about 50 AT who used their SMG/pistol compared to a couple of thousand that didnt. Its stupid to even argue this. Its a known fact that people want to kill other people with as little skill as possible. In CSS its the AWM, in BF2 it started as the GL but once people got the revamped GL they had to switch to a new weapon which is the AT rocket.

So you are comparing the AT Rocket in BF2 to the AWP in CS? :laugh:
I was never able to dodge the AWP - but plenty of times I was able to jump over an AT rocket, then while the poor bastid was reloading, or switching to his poor smg/shotgun I'd put some big holes into his virtual body with ease.
There is no other class except the Engineer maybe that is as helpless as the AT when no rocket is in the tube, and he is attacked by an assault class over medium to far range.

In contrary to others I never had a problem with the new GL either. But that could be because I tend not to use it for targets that are at close proximity..

By reading your post I assume that you are not a very frequent AT player

Not correct.

The SRAWs in service are all being retrofitted with SRAW-MPV warheads (multi-purpose variant), which makes them direct-fire weapons intended for other targets in addition to tanks...including squishies.

Anyone who claims the SRAW/Eryx to be "noob weapons" obviously doesn't have much experience trying to kill infantry with it. Anything beyond hand grenade throwing range requires you to stand still and have perfect aim, since the splash damage from the warhead is nonexistent.

What is your point? Was that it? You people spend more time analyzing what you deem is fair and what is not and what is cheap and what is valid than actually playing the game. Log off the forums and go play some maps.

Yes I can shoot an at guy while he is firing a missile and yes I can dodge the missile easy but im saying it's a cheap way of taking out infantry if it actually hits. at rocket was designed to take down armour not infantry

i agree with u, if u know how to hide, go arround corners. at kill infantry that are STATIC. its really cheap way to kill infantry.

I find the M4, G3, G36C, G36E also to be noobtoobs. Bullets are a cheap way of taking out infantry.

I mean all you have to do is point and fire.

At close range, sure it's cheap. But you have to be pretty unaware of your surroundings to get hit with it otherwise. I have far more deaths to the DAO and SMGs then AT rockets at close range. When they do happen, it's usually when I suprise a guy and he doesn't have time to change weapons.


(Or I'm a sniper who's killed the same AT guy repeatedly and he makes it a personal vendetta to hunt me down and tube me...)
